Tax Free Easy Becomes the Recommended Platform by the German National Tourist Board
On June 27, TRAVEL EASY announced that it has officially entered a partnership with the German National Tourist Board, making Tax Free Easy the “Recommended digital tax refund shopping platform” for the “2019 Germany Shopping Festival”. TRAVEL EASY will collaborate with the German Tourist Board to promote shopping tourism through a series of online and offline activities, providing comprehensive shopping information to tourists. This partnership aims to enhance the shopping and tax refund experience for Chinese travelers in Germany, and further highlighting Germany’s exceptional image as a shopping tourism destination.
According to data released by the German Federal Statistical Office, China is the second-largest overseas source market for inbound tourism to Germany, currently second only to the United States. The number of Chinese visitors to Germany is steadily increasing. In 2018, Chinese tourists spent 3.02 million overnight stays in Germany, a year-on-year increase of 5.6%. Meanwhile, shopping plays a significant role in the overseas travel of Chinese tourists. According to data from TRAVEL EASY, in 2018, the total consumption by Chinese tourists in Europe was approximately 150 billion RMB, and it is expected to reach 200 billion RMB by 2020, with over 50% attributed to local shopping consumption in Europe. Among all Chinese tourists traveling to Europe, more than half favor “tax-free shopping”.
Undoubtedly, “shopping” plays a crucial role in holiday choices and serves as a major driving factor for Chinese tourists in selecting travel destinations.
As the “Recommended electronic tax refund shopping platform” for this event, TRAVEL EASY, in cooperation with the German National Tourist Board and Alipay, is jointly launching the “2019 Germany Shopping Festival”.
